Emergency Medical Technician Training

Moshannon Valley EMS Public Safety Training Center offers full Emergency Medical Technician Certification courses right here in Philipsburg! Our classes run for a Summer and Winter semester, and provide you with everything you will need to pass the National Registry of EMT exams.

The EMT class consists of nearly 200 hours of instruction, and covers topics such as patient assessment, medical emergencies, truamatic injuries, patient immobilization, vehicle rescue, and EMS operations. Students are required to attend no less than 75% of all lessons, maintain a 70% average throughout the course, and complete 40 hours of pre-hospital clinicial educaiton in order to be successful.

Once ​complete, you will be permitted to sit for any ​State or National testing. EMT's are the first level of ​pre-hospital providers that may provide direct treatment to a patient in the back of an ambulance, on their ​own.

Our programs run 12 consecutive weeks, and meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 10pm, and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm. Our summer program begins in late may, and our winter program begins in October.

The winter semester Emergency Medical Technician course is set to begin on October 8th, 2024, at 6pm.
